In the 1990s, the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences broke foreign monopolies by successfully developing the first-generation airborne particle counter in 1992, laying the groundwork for the localization of particle instruments.

Major breakthrough achieved ina key semiconductor field-In 2022, we developed China’s first high-pressure gas particle counter, breaking the international monopoly and solving critical monitoring challenges for special gases in the semiconductor industry.
